I've finished in last place in two (!) marathons. Some might say I like to make an entrance.
The first time I stepped foot in a weed dispensary was to treat my dog Hunter's anxiety. He's more LA than me!
I am generally made up of 90% coffee or 90% red wine, depending on the hour of the day. I love a good Tempranillo.
I read 100% of my book club books the night before we meet.
I'm a 40-something comedian based out of L.A. But don't let the sunny weather fool you. I'm originally from the Midwest and no stranger to extreme friendliness, delicious pizza, and stocking the fridge with beer before a snow storm.
I'm on a mission to complete a marathon in all 50 states, and learned something very important about myself on this journey: I hate running. If I could complete the marathons sitting on the couch and eating deep dish, I'd be in heaven. But I'm nothing short of persistent. So I continue to lace up my shoes, and plod my way through the finish line. I'm 28 states down, and still trying to work off all this pizza.
When I'm not running, I'm usually reading. I love it so much I'm in two book clubs. I like to think this extreme literacy makes my jokes twice as funny, but I'm pretty sure it just doubles my dorkiness.
I love to use comedy and story-telling to soften the sting of life's relatable heartbreaks, especially where dating and therapy are concerned. Despite years of online dating, I'm perpetually single. I've never been married, but have gone out with a guy who ate chicken in his sleep, which drove me to seek counsel from my therapist.
- Emily Margolin, my biggest fan
"Don't take this the wrong way, but I always forget you're funny."
- Kelly Shanley, No Tongue Piercing Aspirations
"I never realized just how wrong a tongue piercing could go until I heard Nicole's Comedy."
I'm on a mission to finish a marathon in all 50 states. When people ask me why, the only answer I have is "Because I can?" It doesn't really make sense to me either, especially since I HATE RUNNING.
When I was a toddler, I thought I was Minnie Mouse. I believed this for so long that my grandma had to make me not one but TWO dresses, because I outgrew the first one! It was the only outfit I would wear to leave the house.
I moved to Los Angeles in January 2020. What a time to make a cross country move! I've since settled in though, especially since starting standup comedy and finding my people!
The farthest place I've ever traveled was to spend a semester of my junior year in college abroad in Sydney Australia. It was amazing! I especially loved everyone's laid back and friendly nature.
I was a pioneer of the first online dating sites, the original Match.com and eHarmony. Two decades later, I am still single.
I've been a Professional Photographer since 2017, specializing in newborns,. My love for photography began in high school in the 90's. I was lucky enough to go to a high school that had a full program and dark room, and learned on film!
